Mark Sherman is the Head of the Department of Literary Arts & Studies. He received his Ph.D. in English in 1991 from the University of Rhode Island. His dissertation is titled “Reading Allegory in the Old Poet and the New: The Canterbury Tales and the 1590 Faerie Queene.” He received his M.A. in English from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. His M.A. thesis is titled “Medieval Philosophy of Justice in Henryson’s Moral Fables.” Mark received his B.A. in English from the College of Continuing Education in Providence, RI, in 1984.
